The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 1:45pm to 5:15pm. The children were observed resting on mats and cots, later the school age children were observed arriving to the center from school. The infants were observed playing on the floor and being changed. All classrooms and playgrounds were inspected today, as well as the facilities mini buses. The on-site pool was inspected as well. Five children?s records and five employee records were reviewed during this inspection. The center administers medication and it was reviewed. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. Last emergency drill: 05/31/2018 Shelter-in-place drills: 03/01/2017 Last fire inspection: 05/29/2018 Last health inspection: 04/30/2018 Total enrollment today: 76 Today, the following child to staff ratios were observed: Infants ?8:2 Toddlers ?9:1(rest time ratio) Twos ? 11:1(rest time ratio) Threes ?19:2(rest time ratio) Pre-K ?15:2 (rest time ratio) School Age ?26:2 The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on a review of staff records on 06/13/2018, the center did not ensure that two of five records reviewed contained documentation that two or more references as to character and reputation as well as competency were checked before employment. EVIDENCE: 1. The record of Staff # 2, whose date of hire was 03/12/2018, contained documentation of one reference check. 2.
