Consultation was given on the specialized MAT course that can be taken on-line through the VA DSS website under Professional Training/MAT.
An unannounced renewal study was conducted today from 9:15-10:45. Nineteen children were present with 5 staff and 1 volunteer. Children were observed in free play in centers, transition to outside play time on the playground and preparation for an art project following a bathroom break. Outside playground is shadowed with trees and is maintained by Arlington County Parks and Recreation. Program has moved to a new location due to construction and tear down at Lubber Run and will be at Langston for 2-3 years. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-D-1 Description: Based on staff statement, no staff is on-site who has the specialized MAT course for an emergency medication. Evidence: The MAT Rectal module is needed as a child has an emergency medication that is administered rectally. Plan of Correction: The course will be completed as soon as possible.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3 Description: Based on observation, an outlet was missing a protective cover. Evidence: An electrical outlet near the staff area was missing an outlet cover. Plan of Correction: An outlet cover will be replaced.
