An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 3:40pm-4:50pm. There were 44 children directly supervised by 4 staff. The physical plant, 4 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, playing table games, and eating snack. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-130-A Description: Based on record review, 4 of 5 children's records reviewed did not contain a record of immunization. Evidence: Children 1, 3, 4, and 5's records do not contain a record that the children have received the immunizations required by the State Board of Health or a Certification of Religious Exemption or a Department of Health-approved form that one or more of the required immunizations may be detrimental to the child's health. Plan of Correction: The school office has the records and a request for them has been made.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-J Description: Based on observation, not all medication was kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: A prescription inhaler was observed unlocked on the teacher's desk in the SACC room. Plan of Correction: The medication os being sent home today, it will remain locked until it is sent home.
