An unannounced full renewal inspection was conducted today. There were 63 children in care, with a total of 11 staff members assigned to their direct supervision. Children's records, health records, staff training, background checks, staff records, children's nutrition, classroom programming, the physical plant, and emergency preparedness items were inspected today. The Inspector noted improvements in the areas of building maintenance and record keeping. The children were observed listening to stories, engaging in circle time discussions, playing with toys and playdoh, creating holiday art projects, eating lunch, and taking their afternoon nap. The children were served tuna sandwiches, green beans, watermelon, and milk for lunch today. This inspection was completed between approximately 9:45am and 1:30pm. Thank you for meeting with me today. If you have any questions regarding this inspection please email me at email@example.com
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-370 Description: Based on staff interviews and a review of infant daily activity sheets, it was determined that infant tummy time was not recorded on 12/10/18. Evidence: It was reported to the Inspector that three infants in care on 12/10/18 received tummy time. However, there was no documentation to show that each of these infants received at least 30 minutes of tummy time on that date. Plan of Correction: The staff person who normally records tummy time was not here on 12/10. During the inspection, staff were reminded that tummy time must be recorded daily.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C Description: Based on a review of children's medications, it was determined that one long term authorization does not include the physician's signature. Evidence: The authorization form for one child's long term medication indicates a start and stop date of 10/23/18-10/23/19. There is no physician's signature on this authorization. Plan of Correction: The medication is not needed. The parent will be asked to take the medication home or to get the doctor's signature on the authorization form.
