An announced initial inspection was completed today at Blossom Montessori School. The inspection was initiated at 10:30am and concluded at 2:30pm. The inspection was conducted with the Program Director and other administrative staff. The facility plans to provide care to children ages 2 1/2 years through 6 years of age All classrooms and spaces that will be used by the program were measured today for verification. The classrooms are equipped with a variety of age appropriate equipment and supplies. The outdoor playground was not inspected as it has not yet been completed. The children will not use the outdoor playground until construction is finished. Children will go on nature walks for outdoor activity time until the playground is fully operational. Toys for active play are available in the indoor gym area. Medication will be administered with proper authorization and requirements met according to policies. Standards related to supervision, staff qualifications (other than the program and site director), children's records and programs could not be determined as the facility is not yet fully operational. There were no children enrolled at the time of the inspection. Policies and procedures have been developed. Coverage of liability Insurance, certification in CPR and First aid training were verified. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. The facility had emergency numbers, evacuation map/procedures, and daily schedules posted on the parent board. A conditional license will be recommended. An unannounced follow-up inspection will be conducted within 60 days to determine compliance with standards not determined at the initial inspection. No violations were observed during today's inspection.
