The following was discussed with the owner during the inspection.
How to use positive discipline methods and verbal redirection

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted between 8:00 am and 11:00am. Upon arrival there were 16 children in care with 4 staff. A sample of 2 staff records were reviewed. The owner confirmed there were no children with medication at the time of inspection and no food allergies. Children were observed playing with Montessori lessons and singing with staff.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on a record review, the center did not ensure all staff had the required background checks.
Evidence:
Staff #1 (hired 07/08/19) did not have documentation of having the results of a central registry check.Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the owner during the exit interview:
The background check was sent, however, had not been followed-up on for results. The owner will call today to follow-up.
