22VAC40-111 Physical Environment and Equipment
An unannounced complaint inspection was conducted in response to a complaint that was received by the licensing office on 7/9/15. Interviews were conducted with the owner and observations were made relating to allegations of supervision and physical environment. The preponderance of the evidence gathered during the investigation does not support the allegation, so the complaint is determined to be "not valid." Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation of the home during the complaint inspection it was found that some areas of the home are not kept in a safe and operable condition. Evidence: 1. The screen door located in the front of the house has holes where to dog scratched the door. These holes are peeling off and are accessible to the children. Plan of Correction: The provider stated that she is planning on replacing this door. Until that time she will ensure that no child has access to this area.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280 Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation of the home during a complaint inspection the provider did not keep hazardous substances out of reach of the children. Evidence: 1. During the inspection on 7/15/15 a container of Skoal was found on the dinner table that the children use when eating. This substance was accessible to the children. 2. During the inspection on 8/17/15 the was found on top of the washing machine, which is located at the main entrance used by the families, was a can of air freshener and a bottle of Z Quil. These items are accessible to the children. Plan of Correction: The provider removed these items during the inspection and placed them in a locked area inaccessible to the children. The provider will ensure that all hazardous substances are kept locked or out of the reach of children.
