An exit interview was conducted with the provider to discuss the results of today's inspection. Consultation was given regarding the licensing process and risk levels.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today, January 6, 2016 to determine the provider's compliance with licensing standards. The inspection was initiated at 1:15pm and concluded approximately 3:00pm. In attendance were 4 children totaling 8 points being supervised by the provider. Children were asleep on mats with the appropriate bedding. Children books, toys, and equipment were inspected and found to be age appropriate and in operable condition. The children's restroom was inspected with the required supplies present. All rooms of the home were inspected to include the downstairs areas; no hazards were found on this day. The rear yard was inspected and appear to be free of hazards; children take out toys during outdoor play. The family day home had the required postings displayed on the wall upon entering the kitchen. The first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and emergency supplies were inspected. Three children and the provider's record were inspected with the required information found. The following was also inspected: fire drill log, shelter-in-place drills, emergency preparedness plan, parent agreements, and other pertinent information. Previous violations were inspected and found to have been corrected and brought into compliance. If you have any questions regarding today's inspection, contact the licensing inspector at (804) 662-9771.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-210-A Description: Based on the review of provider records, the required annual training hours were not obtained. Evidence: During the inspection of the provider's record, it was discovered the provider has 12hrs of annual training for the year 2015. Licensing standards require 16hrs of annual training each year. Plan of Correction: Per provider: I will schedule to complete 16hrs each year and will check by October of each year to ensure the hours have been met.
