An exit interview was conducted with the provider to discuss the results of today's inspection.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, January 6, 2017 to determine the provider's compliance with licensing standards. The inspection was initiated at 12:50pm and concluded approximately 2:30pm. In attendance were 9 children totaling 18 points being supervised by the provider and assistant. Children had just completed lunch, used the restroom, and asleep on cots with the appropriate bedding. Today's lunch consisted of Salisbury steak, green peas, pineapples, sliced bread, and milk. Children books, toys, and equipment were inspected and found to be age appropriate and in operable condition. The children's restroom was inspected with the required supplies present. All rooms of the home including the upstairs were inspected with no hazards found and smoke/fire detectors present. The family day home had the required postings displayed on the bulletin board upon entering the home. The first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and emergency supplies were inspected. Five children's and provider records were inspected with the majority of required information found. The following was also inspected: fire drill log, shelter-in-place drills, emergency preparedness plan, parent agreements, and other pertinent information. See attached notice for violations found on this day. If you have any questions regarding today's inspection, contact the licensing inspector at (804) 662-9771.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-c Description: Based on the inspection of provider records, the required update was not conducted within established guidelines. Evidence: During the inspection of three staff records, staff #3 central registry dated 9/5/13 expired on 9/5/16. An updated central registry should have been completed prior to expiration. Plan of Correction: Per provider: I have sent off the central registry form in December, so the form should be back very soon.
