54.1-3408 Provider must be MAT certified to administer prescription medication.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. Eleven children were present with the provider and two assistants. Total 39 points with three caregivers. The children were eating lunch and resting. The infants were being fed, playing and resting. Seven children, six of whom are infants, are new since the last inspection. Their records were reviewed today. The provider has MAT certification, but is not administering any medication at this time. In addition to the provider, the assistants also have first aid and CPR training. The violations cited at the last inspection have been corrected. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-100-A Description: Based on record review, no documentation of a physical exam was found for one child who started in care part time on November 10, 2016. Plan of Correction: Documentation of a physical exam for this child will be obtained.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-70-B Description: Based on record review, there was no written acknowledgement from the parent that they received information on whether or not the provider has liability insurance coverage, in the records of two new children. Plan of Correction: The provider will obtain the parents' written acknowledgement of the receipt of this information.
