Comments:
An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted today 3/23/2017. There were ten children in care at a total of 30 points with the licensee and two assistants. The Inspector arrived at 10:15 am and departed the program at 1:00 pm. The inspector reviewed four children's records, the licensee's, two assistant's and one household member's record. Observed the children during: free play, dancing, story time, lunch and nap. Discussion with the licensee about: outside play time, sleeping infants, using wipes for handwashing.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-560-A
Description: Based on observation, the licensee failed to ensure that all infant were checked on every 15 minutes while sleeping. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed two sleeping infants in the napping room. The licensee and or assistants checked on the infants at 10:43 A.M., 11:24 A.M, 11:37 A.M. and 12:07 P.M. The requirement is to check on sleeping infants every 15 minutes.

Plan of Correction: The licensee stated that she thought she was checking every 15 minutes and will now monitor time closely.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-680-B
Description: Based on observation, the licensee failed to ensure that all children washed hands prior to eating. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the assistant feeding a bottle to an infant and did not use a wipe or use the three towel method prior to being feed.

Plan of Correction: The licensee will ensure that all hands are washed prior to eating.
