Technical Assistance:
A supplemental page was provided.

Thank you for your time and assistance with the unannounced renewal inspection conducted today, March 29, 2017. The on-site inspection was conducted from 10:55 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. On this date, there were six children in the care of the provider and assistant (12 points). There were a total of 12 children enrolled in the program. There were three children's records reviewed and the records of three caregivers and one adult household member were reviewed for updates. The provider, the assistant and two children were interviewed. There were no medications being administered at the time of the inspection, which is the policy of the provider. The violations from the previous inspection were reviewed for compliance. The exception to compliance was noted on the violation notice and the risk rating for the violation was noted on the supplemental page. Lunch was observed to meet USDA guidelines and consisted of ham slices, mixed veggies, rice, bread, blueberries, and milk. Some items reviewed and observed included required posted information, emergency evacuation drills, first aid kit and emergency supplies, outdoor play, play with bubbles and sidewalk chalk, choice time, diapering procedures, bathroom and hand washing procedures, infant feeding, lunch, and nap time. Please contact me if you have questions concerning this inspection, the licensing standards, and/or if I may be of assistance to you (540) 280-0742.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-340-C
Description: Based on observation and verification from the provider, the bathroom was not equipped with paper towels. Evidence: 1. There were no paper towels available in the bathroom for the children to use after washing their hands. When washing their hands before lunch, the children used the same cloth towel.

Plan of Correction: The provider began using paper towels during the inspection.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
