Licensing Inspector arrived at 11:05am and departed at 12:40pm to conduct a subsidy health and safety inspection. At the time of the tour there was one child in care with the vendor. The age of the child counted for three points. The vendor was observed working on learning activities prior to lunch with the child in care. Lunch was reviewed. The sample size was three children's records as well as records for one household member and the vendor.

Description: Based on interview, the vendor failed to complete within the first 90 days of employment or service all caregivers shall complete Virginia Pre-Service Training for Child Care Staff sponsored by the Department of Social Services. Evidence: The vendor stated she had not completed Virginia Pre-Service Training.

Plan of Correction: The vendor stated she would have Virginia Pre-Service Training completed within the next 30 days.

Description: Based on record review and interview, the vendor failed to ensure the emergency plan for the family day home included lockdown procedures. Evidence: 1. The emergency plan for the family day home did not include written lockdown procedures. 2. The vendor verified that the emergency plan lacked lockdown procedures.

Plan of Correction: The vendor stated that written lockdown procedures will be added to the emergency plan within the next two weeks.
