A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on September 22, 2017 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 4 children in care, for a total of 9 points with two caregivers.
The children were observed reading books, playing with toys and playing in the backyard. The children ate a lunch of grilled cheese cut into cubes, mango, spinach and milk. The facility does not administer medication. The facility does not provide transportation. The last evacuation drill was conducted 9/5/17. The most recent shelter-in-place was conducted 4/4/17. Two caregiver records and 4 children?s records were reviewed.
A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found.

Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-C
Description: Based on a review of the caregiver records, the facility did not ensure that a caregiver completed the Virginia Pre-Service Training within 90 days of the date the regulation became effective. EVIDENCE: Caregiver #2, who was employed prior to the effective date of the regulation, did not complete the Virginia Pre-Service Training.

Plan of Correction: Caregiver will continue to work finishing the Virginia Pre-Service Training.

Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-F
Description: Based on a review of caregiver records, the facility did not ensure that an assistant caregiver completed CPR/First Aid within 90 days of the effective date of the regulation. EVIDENCE: The record of caregiver #2, who was employed prior to the effective date of the regulation, did not have documentation of cpr/first aid.

Plan of Correction: The caregiver will finish training.
