Thank you for your time and assistance during the unannounced renewal inspection conducted on October 13, 2017 during the hours of approximately 10:50 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Seven children were enrolled and four children were in the care of the provider during the on site inspection. Two resident children were also present in the home (total of 15 points). Five children's records and three caregivers' records were reviewed and/or updated. One household member's record was up-to-date and, therefore, not reviewed. No medications were administered on this date, as is the policy of this family day home. Facility documents were reviewed, safety equipment was observed (first aid kit, flashlight, radio and fire extinguisher) and posted information was viewed (license, licensing inspection documentation, daily schedule, weekly menu, emergency telephone numbers, and emergency evacuation diagram/plan). Program observation was completed. Activities observed on this date included: indoor play (toys, books/stories and play doh); snacks; diapering and handwashing procedures; naptime; and departure/pick-up of one child. Adult/child interactions, behavior guidance and daily routines/transitions were also observed. The children followed the daily routine and transitions well. Previous violations cited (inspection date - 4/10/2017) were reviewed for compliance; no repeat violations were cited. Substantial compliance with the licensing standards was observed; no violations of licensing standards were cited. Please contact me if you have questions concerning this inspection, the licensing standards and/or if I may be of assistance to you (540) 430-9262.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
