54.1-3408 Provider must be MAT certified to administer prescription medication.

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted with the provider beginning at 3:20 PM and ending at 4:45 PM. There were three children in care ages twelve months, sixteen months, and eight years old for a total of eight points. One child was observed sleeping in a crib. One child was observed being read to by the provider and playing with manipulatives. The third child was observed arriving from school and eating snack which consisted of goldfish crackers, sliced apples, and water. Three children?s records and one provider record were reviewed. Emergency escape drills were in compliance. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather-band radio were in compliance. The provider is not Medication Administration Training (MAT) certified and cannot administer prescription medications to children in care. Description: Based on a review of documentation, the provider did not have documentation of a current Report of Tuberculosis Screening form every two years from the date of the first screening as required. Evidence: Household member A's record did not have a copy of a current tuberculosis screening, the most recent report was dated 10/11/2015.

Plan of Correction: The provider stated that she had a tuberculosis screening and would obtain a copy of the results from her doctor's office and place it in the record.
