Several e-mails have been sent regarding the new requirement for fingerprinting and can be found on our website at dss.virginia.gov under "Bulletins" for Current providers. Contact the Office of Background Investigations at 804-726-7884 to get the Fieldprint Code for your family day home. Once the code is obtained, go online to fieldprintvirginia.com and schedule an appointment to go have the electronic fingerprinting done. The locations are listed on the website. Results will be e-mailed to you. This replaces the Virginia State Police criminal history record. All caregivers and household members over the age of 18 must complete fingerprinting no later than September 30, 2018. Background checks are now valid for five years from the original date the check was completed
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with provider. There were three day care children present, ages 9 months to 11 years, totalling 6 points. Two children got off the school bus, adding two additional points. The children were waking from rest and having snack time. Snack served today: boiled eggs, fresh fruit, and crackers. Four children's files were reviewed and are in compliance. One emergency medication was reviewed - provider is certified in Medication Administration Training through 11/13/2018. First aid and CPR certification was renewed 6/7/2017. Time of today's inspection: 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Plan of Correction: Provider has the asthma action plan completed by the physician, but will secure written authorization for the provider to administer the medication.
