Technical Assistance:
Reminded provider that there must be at least 12 inches of space in between each occupied crib. No children were observed sleeping in cribs during this inspection, but the provider has several cribs in the infant nap room.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. The provider and two assistant caregivers were caring for 11 children, totaling 36 points. Children's records, caregiver training records, emergency preparedness items, children's nutrition, and the physical plant were inspected today. The provider reported that no children's medications were on site today. This inspection took place in the middle of the day. The children were observed finishing outdoor water play activities, eating lunch, and taking their afternoon nap. The children were served black beans, quinoa rice, strawberries, and milk for lunch today. This inspection was completed between approximately 11:30am and 12:50pm. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-50-A
Description: Based on a review of administrative records, it was determined that the provider has not completed the written attendance as required. Evidence: The provider did not complete the written record of children in attendance for today.

Plan of Correction: I will remember to document the attendance every morning.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-540-A
Description: Based on observations, it was determined that two children were not securely seated when eating lunch. Evidence: Two children were observed sitting in a toddler feeding chair without the safety strap securely fastened.

Plan of Correction: The children were immediately buckled during the inspection.
