To find on-line trainings, go to the website at dss.virginia.gov and look under child care. There will be resources and trainings listed. We also discussed required postings, emergency relocation sites, parts of the emergency procedures and conducting practice drills.
A first monitoring inspection was conducted this morning from 10 am- 12:30 pm. There was one child in care today for 4 points. The children's area is bright and inviting. If you have any questions, please contact me at email@example.com
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-C Description: Based on a review of records today, there were no practice emergency drills documented. Plan of Correction: We will begin to use the form to do the fire drills and shelter-in-place.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-100-A Description: Based on a review of records today, there was no physical examination documented for one child in care. Evidence: Although the immunization record was present, there was no physical exam present. Plan of Correction: We will get her physical.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Description: Based on observation during today's inspection, there was an area on the deck that was not maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: The latch on the gate that blocked off the stairway was broken off. Plan of Correction: We will get that fixed.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-430-D Description: Based on observation today,, the stairway for use by children and parents was not constructed to prevent falling over or through. Evidence: Though the wooden railings have been reinforced, there was still too much space between the railnigs where a child could fall through. Plan of Correction: We will put up lattice on the stair railings.
