A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on November 9, 2018, between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m., to review the supplemental health and safety requirements. Sixteen (16) children were enrolled and eight children were in the care of the provider and one assistant during the on site inspection. Five children's records, two caregivers' records and one household member's record were reviewed and/or updated. Program observation was completed. Activities observed on this date included: indoor play - toys and television (children's programming); diapering and handwashing procedures; lunch; naptime and infant care. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date; the two inspections combined covered all of the subsidy health and safety requirements. Only the subsidy requirements that were not covered in the licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Two violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection and were identified on the accompanying Violation Notice.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-230-E-1 Description: Based on review of two caregiver records and discussion with the caregivers, the program failed to ensure one caregiver was certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of the children in care. Evidence: 1. Review of caregiver #2's record, on this date, determined that the caregiver was not currently certified in CPR. 2. Both caregivers confirmed the lack of CPR certification for caregiver #2. Plan of Correction: CPR certification will be obtained.

Evidence: 1. Review of caregiver #2's record, on this date, determined that the caregiver was not currently certified in first aid. 2. Both caregivers confirmed the lack of first aid certification for caregiver #2. Plan of Correction: The caregiver will complete first aid certification training.
