63.2 Child abuse and neglect

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:00am-11:30am. There were 11 children (33 points) supervised by 3 direct caregivers. The home, programming, staff records, children?s records, household member?s records, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed engaging freely, reading, singing and eating snack. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection and positive interaction was observed between children and caregivers. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-750-A
Description: Based on observation, topical skin products are not labeled with child's name. Evidence: Diaper cream and sunscreen are not labeled with child's name.

Plan of Correction: I will label all topical creams.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-960-E
Description: Based on observation all bottles in the refrigerator were not labeled with child's full name and date. Evidence: There were 2 bottles in the refrigerator not labeled with child's full name and date.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure all bottles are labeled with child's name and date.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-90-A
Description: Based on review of children's records, the provider does not have completed records for 1 child. Evidence: Child #1, began care on 11/19/18, does not have documentation of an immunization record.

Plan of Correction: I texted mom and get a copy of the record.
