Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:00am-11:15am. There were 8 children (22 points) supervised by 2 direct care staff. The home, 3 staff records, 4 children?s records, 2 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed napping, learning Spanish, and engaging freely. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B
Description: Based on record review, 1 of 4 children's records did not contain documentation of all required information.

Evidence:
1. Child #1's record did not contain documentation of written authorization if a caregiver is to administer prescription or nonprescription medication to the child as required by 22 VAC 40-111-700 A 2.
2. Child #3's record did not contain documentation of a completed physical form signed by the physician.

Plan of Correction: I have informed the parents and the missing items have been requested to be turned in this week.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B
Description: Based on observation, 2 electrical outlets did not have child-resistant protective covers.

Evidence: Two electrical outlets in the infant naptime room did not have child-resistant protective covers.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
