Comments:
Today's visit was a routine monitoring inspection. The inspection began at 8:15am and concluded at 1:20pm. There were forty-five children present with six staff and two additional staff members in the building. During the inspection four out of seventy-five children's records were reviewed, three out of ten staff records were reviewed, both outdoor play areas were viewed, all three medications present at the center were viewed along with authorization, lunch time was observed, nap time was observed, and some policies and procedures were reviewed. Risk assessment for key health and safety violations were reviewed at the conclusion of today's inspection and are located on the Supplemental page. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-450-D
Description: Based on the inspector's observations during nap time in the two year old classroom, the center failed to ensure a pillow,observed in use, was covered with a pillow case. Evidence: The inspector observed a child sleeping on a decorative pillow and the pillow did not have any type of removable case.

Plan of Correction: The staff will be reminded to temporarily assign an extra center pillow case if one is brought to the center.
