Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation, the center failed to maintain the facility in a safe condition. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed peeling paint in the facility. In the girl's bathroom there is peeling paint on the wall beside of the sink and there is also peeling paint under the calendar in the classroom near the floor.

Plan of Correction: The education supervisor will have center staff cover these areas with a poster or picture today to ensure these areas are inaccessible to the children. Maintenance will be contacted to repair the walls. Staff will monitor the center for needed maintenance.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation, the center failed to have hazardous substances stored in a locked place. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the kitchen. There were containers of bleach, fabric softener and carpet cleaner sitting on top of the dryer. The containers were not stored in a locked place.

Plan of Correction: The center has locked cabinets over the washer and dryer, but the shelving area in the cabinets are too small for the large containers. The education supervisor will contact maintenance and ask that the shelves be removed to allow space for storage of the large containers. Staff will monitor to ensure hazardous substances are stored in a locked place.
