Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 11:00 to 1:30pm. Ratios for all eleven groups were found in compliance. The children were engaged in center play, including block building, dramatic play, painting, computers, and sand table. They were also playing outside, listening to stories and eating lunch. Medication procedures were reviewed, and staff with current MAT, first aid and CPR training were on site. The outside play area was checked today, and the inspector observed gardens planted by the individual classes. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 703-479-4709.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-E
Description: Based on observation, staff did not ensure that medication is labeled with the child's name, the dosage amount, and time to be given. Findings: At the time of the inspection, the inspector observed an over the counter medication for Child #1, that was not labeled. The medication was in a bag with the child's name on the bag, but not on the medication itself.

Plan of Correction: Higher Horizons DCC, Inc. will ensure that all medication containers, prescribed and over the counter, are accurately labeled with the child's name.
