An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 11:30 to 1:00pm. Ratios for all six groups were found in compliance. The children were playing outside and eating lunch. The infants were playing on the floor, being fed and sleeping. Medication procedures were reviewed, and staff had current MAT, first aid and CPR training. Some of the violations cited at the last inspection were not corrected and were cited again today. It is important to correct the violations within the agreed upon time frames. The exit interview was conducted with the staff person in charge. The director was not on site at the time of the inspection. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 703-479-4709.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: Based on record review, the licensee failed to obtain documentation of a follow up TB screening for each staff member at least every two years. Findings: At the time of the inspection, the inspector found that the TB screening for Staff Person #2, was over two years old. Plan of Correction: The staff person will obtain an updated TB screening and the documentation will be kept in the staff person's record.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on record review, the licensee did not keep a written record of orientation training for each staff person. Findings: At the time of the inspection, the inspector found that there was no documentation of orientation training for Staff person #1, who started in July, 2014. Plan of Correction: The orientation training for this staff person will be documented and kept in the staff person's record.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C Description: Based on record review, the licensee did not ensure that written authorizations to administer medication are current. Findings: At the time of the inspection, the inspector found that the written authorization to administer medication to Child #1, had expired. Plan of Correction: A new written authorization to administer this medication will be obtained from the parent and physician.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on record review, there was no documentation of a practice evacuation drill since October 2014. Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
