- Technical Assistance:
Discussed the need for the center to ask for extra staff if they have children that need one on one attention for large period of the day.
43 children present with 3 staff during this visit. The children were observed playing outside on the playground and on the basketball court. The children were also observed eating snack and getting ready for afternoon activities. The center was relocated from the cafeteria to the gym on Friday due to the school painting the cafeteria. The center has lots of supplies for the children to explore. Interaction between staff and children were observed during the visit. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-40-D Description: The center failed to post the parent board including the license in a place conspicuous to the public. Evidence: Based on the physical plant inspection, the center moved location Friday from the cafeteria to the gym due to the school painting the cafeteria. The center failed to move the parent board from the office in the cafeteria to the new location. Plan of Correction: We will move the parent board to our current location.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-H Description: The center failed to keep staff purses inaccessible to the children in care. Evidence: During the inspection of the facility a staff purse was observed containing over the counter medication. The purse was accessible to the children in the gym. Plan of Correction: removed during the visit.
