Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 12/15/2015 from 3;00pm-4:30pm. There were 56 children present directly supervised by 9 staff. The children were observed in a variety of activities to include: free play, personal hygiene routines (hand washing), waking up from nap and snack time( bon appetite, it's time to eat). The following areas were inspected during today?s visit: physical environment, emergency preparedness plan, emergency drills, records ( children and staff) emergency supplies and posted documents. Medications on site were also inspected. An exit interview was conducted with center administration. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N
Description: Based upon observation and record review, medication on site had expired. Evidence: An epi-pen on site had expired as of 10/2015 and had not been returned to parents.

Plan of Correction: Center will return to parents at pick up.
