Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection January 29, 2016 from approximately 10:00am to 12:00pm. The following ratios were observed with a total of 69 children present during the inspection:
Infants - 8 children with 2 staff
Toddlers - 9 children with 3 staff
Twos - 5 children with 1 staff
Twos - 6 children with 1 staff
Twos - 6 children with 1 staff
Threes (Preschool) ? 7 children with 1 staff
Threes (Preschool) ? 8 children with 1 staff
Fours & Fives (Pre-K) - 10 children with 1 staff
Fours & Fives (Pre-K) - 10 children with 1 staff
School Age children were not present during the inspection.
During the inspection, the Infants were observed playing on the floor with toys alongside staff members. The Toddlers were observed playing with toys. The Twos classrooms were observed playing with the dollhouse, cars, having a tea party, building with blocks and having books read to them by their teacher. The Threes classrooms were observed playing musical instruments, reviewing letters of the alphabet, playing dress-up, looking at books, working puzzles, and creating dogs from cut out hearts. The Pre-K classrooms were observed creating thank-you cards for a recent visitor that came to the center, coloring mittens, creating heart collages, and looking at books. Lunch was served and consisted of chicken parmesan and noodles, salad, tropical fruit and milk. Staff was observed interacting with the children and providing assistance when needed. All areas of the center including classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, and kitchen were inspected. The center was equipped with toys and supplies and items were available to the children. Playgrounds and vehicles were not inspected due to inclement weather.
The following information was reviewed during the inspection: medication and medication authorization forms, emergency supplies, fire and shelter-in-place drills, daily attendance, daily sheets, menu, parent agreements, and staff training information.
