Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 12:00pm-1:30pm. There were 69 children (infants-5yrs.) directly supervised by 13 staff. The physical plant, 4 staff records, 4 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed eating lunch and preparing for nap. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Erika Gibson at erika.gibson@dss.virginia.gov or 703-479-4686.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C
Description: Based on medication review, the center did not follow their medication policies and procedures by allowing long-term medications without written authorization from the child's physician and parent. Evidence: Medication authorization forms were observed with only the parent's signature and not the physician's for Child 5 and Child 6 for long-term medications that were kept on site. The physician's signature was observed on a Fairfax County Public School's authorization form and not the center's authorization form.

Plan of Correction: I will get that done by the end of the week.
