Comments:
Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Assistant Principal. This visit took place in the morning between 10am-1:00pm. There were 9 classrooms observed with a total of 138 students with 23 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having morning indoor recess, circle time, story-time, lunch and nap time. Lunch today consisted of turkey and cheese wraps, mixed vegetables and mandarin oranges. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, fire drill log, medication and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-G
Description: Based on observation of the classroom, a substitute container did not include a label indicating its content. Evidence: A spray bottle was found with a liquid substance however it was not clearly labeled to identify its content.

Plan of Correction: Assistant Principal stated that she will remind staff that all spray bottles should be labeled.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-H
Description: Based on observation of the classroom, a purse was found accessible to children. Evidence: In the school age classroom, a purse was found accessible to children .

Plan of Correction: Assistant Principal stated that she will remind teachers that purses and personal belongings must be locked in storage closet.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-G
Description: Based on observation of the food brought from home, several did not contain the child's name and date. Evidence: 1 lunch containers did not include the child's name and or date.

Plan of Correction: Center Assistant Principal stated that Teachers will be reminded that all lunch bags must be labeled with name and date.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-E
Description: Based on observation of the infant classroom, infant bottles did not include the date. Evidence: Upon arrival, 2 infant bottles were found on the counter however they did not have the name and date on them.

Plan of Correction: Assistant Principal stated that she will remind teachers that all bottles must be labeled and dated.
