Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with Head Teacher-Ms. Keisha. This visit took place in the morning between 7:20am-9. There were 46 students with 2 staff not within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed arriving to morning SACC, having breakfast, playing board games, blocks, and in transition to class. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-F Description: Based on observation, two children were not within sight and sound supervision. Evidence: Upon arrival, there were two children alone standing around in classroom #2 without supervision. Both staff members were in classroom #1 and were unable to see the students. Plan of Correction: Head teacher stated that the parent drop them off and they went to the other classroom to put there bag up however the parent left. Head teacher stated that they were brothers and waiting for each other. Head teacher also stated that she was standing in classroom #2.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-E-5 Description: Based on observation, one staff member was with more than 18 children. Evidence: During this inspection, 2 staff member were present with 38 children. Staff member #1 took took 12 students to breakfast and 26 children were left with staff #2. Plan of Correction: Head Teacher stated that two staff members are out today and they were supposed to receive a sub however she is not aware what happened to that person.
