Comments:
An unannounced non mandated monitoring inspection was conducted on 4/22/2016. This inspection was a follow up to the February 2016 inspection. The inspector arrived at 9:00 A.M. and departed the program at 11:28 A.M. Discussion with Owner about : diapering procedures for children under the age of 3, new building and completing a modification.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B
Description: Based on observation and interviews with staff, the center failed to ensure that when diapering occurs in the building that all areas are met. Evidence: 1. The inspector found that one child age 2 1/2 years old and still required diapers in the classroom. There was no step can to discard the soiled diaper.

Plan of Correction: The director will purchase a step can and will make sure that the step can is used.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-N
Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that no child was allowed to walk around while eating. Evidence: 1. Child # 1 pulled a snack container off of the shelf and finished the food while walking around the classroom.

Plan of Correction: The teaching staff will monitor all food brought from home and will ensure that no child walks around while eating.
