An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm. There were 31 children in care being supervised by 4 staff members. The children were observed participating in outdoor play and circle time. Lunch for the children is provided by the parents. Four staff records were reviewed. Ten children's records were reviewed and in compliance. The most recent emergency escape drill was conducted 02/12/2016 and the most recent shelter in place drill was conducted 04/13/2016. The center is not currently administering medication to children in care. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: Based on review of four staff records it was determined that staff did not submit results of a TB (Tuberculosis) screening to administration every two years. Evidence The most recent TB screening on file for staff A was dated 12/03/2009. Plan of Correction: Staff A will obtain a TB screening and submit the results to administration.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on observation of the monthly emergency evacuation drills it was determined that emergency evacuation drills were not practiced monthly. Evidence: The most recent emergency evacuation drill was conducted 02/12/2016. Plan of Correction: The center will practice emergency evacuation drills monthly.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F-4 Description: Based on observation of the Toddler room it was determined that the center served food to children under age three that are considered to be a potential choking hazard. Evidence: The children in the Toddler classroom (Ages 18 months- 24 months) were served popcorn during morning snack. Plan of Correction: Popcorn will no longer be served to children under three years old.
