Comments:
An initial licensing inspection was conducted, by appointment, on August 15, 2016 between the hours of approximately 10:10 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. The program was not in operation on this date and no children were observed to be in care. The facility and outdoor playground areas were toured and measured. The classrooms were observed to be clean and supplied with a variety of age/stage appropriate play and learning materials/toys. Applicable policies, procedures, reports and records (staff and children) were reviewed and required posted information was discussed/observed. Available background clearances and required training documents were reviewed. Safety equipment was examined for compliance, including a first aid kit, emergency supplies, flashlights and a radio. Thank you for your time and assistance during the inspection process. No violations of licensing standards were cited during this inspection. It is evident that much thought, effort and planning have gone into the establishment of the program and the set-up of the classroom environment. The opening of this facility represents the culmination of years of work and effort by many persons in the community. Upon receipt of policy changes and a copies of the Special Use Permit and the Certificate of Occupancy, a recommendation will be made for the issuance of a conditional child day center license. Please contact me if you have questions concerning this inspection, the licensing standards and/or if I may be of assistance to you (540) 430-9262.
