An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on October 14th 2016 between 7:50am and 9:15am. There were 35 children in the direct care of 3 staff members. Children were observed playing in the gym, eating breakfast, reading, knitting, and drawing. Staff were consistently engaged with the children. A sampling of children's records were reviewed. The physical space, supervision, medications, medication training, and evacuation drills were observed and inspected. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on record review, 3 of 3 children's records reviewed did not have their first date of attendance documented. Plan of Correction: When we receive the registration form we will fill in the space for date of first attendance.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method. Evidence: In room 1, a bottle of cleaning wipes were in an unlocked cabinet above the sink. In room 2, 3 bottles of cleaning wipes were in an unlocked cabinet above the sink, and the cabinet under the sink, containing a cleaning spray, was unlocked. Plan of Correction: We will make sure that after any cleaning agent is used staff lock the cabinets.
