- Technical Assistance:
Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment, current staffing, and the new class schedule for this year. There are two different morning (AM) classes - 3 days a week 4 year old class (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays), and a 2 days a week 3 year old class (Tuesdays, and Thursdays). In addition, there is now an afternoon (PM) class - 5 days a week for 4 year old children (Monday through Friday).
The following inspection took place between the hours of 9:30 am through 12 pm (noon). Today, I met with the Staff of the preschool program held on site at the Ida-Lee Recreational Center located in the town of Leesburg, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced monitoring inspection there were a total of 14 children (three years of age) with 2 staff; good ratio for this one group. A total of 3 children?s files and 3 staff files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: large motor skills on the playground, bathroom break, hand washing, snack (graham crackers served with apple juice), scarecrows, center play within the classroom, the introduction of a new center area - "camping" (that included a tent), learning, and other organized activities. If you should have any future questions, please call. Thank you. Charlie Perkins, Licensing Inspector (703) 309-3963
