Discussed Emergency Preparedness Plan. Discussed cleaning products.
An unannounced renewal was conducted from 9 -1035. The Inspector observed 9 children with 3 staff and a County Specialist . The children were engaged in activities and the Inspector observed facility too. The center stated they do not have anyone needing medication and stated no one has required medication this year. Records, attendance form, clearances, training documents, and permits were reviewed. Please call with questions 703-479-4679
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: Based on review of staff files, two staff have expired TB Screenings. Evidence: 1. Staff #1's screening was conducted September, 2014. Staff #2 was conducted in October, 2014. Plan of Correction: Will send them this afternoon.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-530-A Description: Based on record review, all three staff present do not have current CPR and First Aid certification. The certifications expired in September, 2016. Plan of Correction: I will call them and set up an appointment.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-C Description: Based on observation, the Program does not have the following first aid supplies in the first aid boxes on each floor: tweezers adhesive tape band aids and triangular bandages Plan of Correction: I will do it.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-E Description: Based on observation, the center does not have a battery operated radio and flashlight on each floor. Plan of Correction: I will get one.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-A Description: Based on review of Emergency plan and staff interviews, the center has not addressed staff responsibility and facility readiness with respect to emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place. The plan, which shall be developed in consultation with local or state authorities, addresses the most likely to occur emergency scenario or scenarios, including but not limited to natural disaster, chemical spills, intruder, and terrorism specific to the locality. Evidence: 1. The Program does not have a relocation site in the event they have to leave the area. Plan of Correction: I will make one.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on record review, the program did not conduct evacuation drills in months that shelter in place drills were conducted. Evidence: 1. Evacuation drills are missing in June and in November of last year but shelter in place drills were conducted that month. Plan of Correction: I will do them every month.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-B Description: Based on review of the three staff files, the program has not obtained background checks for 2 staff. 1. Staff # 1 who started at the center on September 8, 2014, does not have a CPS registry check conducted. 2. Staff #3 who started at the center in 2008, does not have a CPS registry search on file. Plan of Correction: We will do it this month.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-007-4 Description: Based on record review, the center has not obtained repeat background checks for 1of 3 staff. Evidence: 1. Three staff are presently employed at the facility. Staff #3 has an expired Criminal Record Search. Plan of Correction: I will send out.
