LI Anderson conducted an unannounced monitor inspection on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Upon arrival at 10:15 AM there were forty-six (46) children ages 2-11 years old under the direct care and guidance of six (6) staff members. Records were reviewed including children medication records & staff records that were found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Previous violations have all been corrected. Center continues to administer medication, provide transportation & meals. Children were individual/group activities, bathroom/handwashing procedures, meals served & rest period. An exit interview including review of violations & risk assessment were reviewed with the Center Director on 12/20/2016. LI Anderson concluded inspection at 1:15 PM.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F-4 Description: Based on observations, the Licensee failed to ensure children 3 years of age or younger are not offered foods that are considered to be potential chocking hazards. EVIDENCE: Children in the 3 year old classrooms were offered a fruit kabob consisting of a whole strawberry, sliced banana, marshmellow and a whole grape. Grape was not sliced in half creating a choking hazard. Plan of Correction: Director will inspect food brought in by the parents to make sure they are not choking hazards & meet requirements.
