Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on January 31, 2017. There were 2 staff were present with 26 children. Children were observed playing board games, working on homework, preparing ofr snack and eating snack. The sample size of records reviewed included 3 children's records and the health related information and emergency contact information for 2 staff members. Three medications were reviewed as a part of the inspection. The inspection began at approximately 3:45 p.m. and ended at 5:10 p.m.. The results of the inspection were reviewed with the center director during the exit interview.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-E
Description: Based on observation and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure all medication was labeled with the child's name, the name of the medication, the dosage amount, and the time or times to be given. Evidence: During the inspection on January 31, 2017, there was one medication (Diphenhydramine) that was not labeled with a child's name, the dosage amount or the times to be given.

Plan of Correction: The center director will make sure all medication is labeled and there is a correct authorization form.
