- Technical Assistance:
It was discussed that all staff who handle children's food must use soap and running water to wash hands - not just hand sanitizer and gloves. The program director was reminded that shelter-in-place drills must be conducted at least two times per year. It is recommended that the first shelter drill is conducted early in the school year so staff and children can become familiar with the procedure.
An unannounced, mandated monitoring inspection was conducted today. The inspector arrived at 10:15 AM and departed at 12:30 PM. Thirty-nine children were in care with seven staff. Morning activities and lunch service were observed. A sample size of five children's records and two staff records were reviewed. Medication administration was reviewed. No children's injuries were reported. An exit meeting was conducted with the program director prior to closure of the inspection. Please contact the inspector if there are any questions.
