Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on Monday, September 25, 2017 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. The following ratios were observed with a total of 63 children present during the inspection: Infants - 7 children with 2 staff Toddlers - 4 children with 1 staff Toddlers/Twos - 8 children with 2 staff Twos/Threes - 15 children with 2 staff Preschool - 10 children with 1 staff Pre-K - 19 children with 2 staff School age children were not present during the inspection. The children and staff were engaged in a variety of activities when the licensing inspector arrived. Infants were observed playing on the floor with their teachers, sleeping in cribs and being fed. The Toddlers were observed being read to and resting at naptime. The Twos were observed washing their hands and eating lunch. The Preschool children were observed building with blocks and legos, playing on the easel, looking at books and participating in a dance class. The Pre-K children were observed playing outside and preparing for lunch. Lunch consisted of turkey and cheese wraps, green beans, pears and milk. All areas of the center including classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and bathrooms were inspected. The facility was equipped with toys and supplies and items were available to the children. During the inspection, ten children's records and ten staff records were reviewed. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
