Comments:
An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted with the center director and center staff. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date (see that report for details). There are currently three staff employed by the facility. All staff have documentation of the mandatory VA Preservice Training and one staff is currently certified in first aid and CPR. A class is scheduled Monday for two newly hired staff. There are no children with diagnosed food allergies currently enrolled. The emergency preparedness plan was reviewed for reunification plans and lockdown procedures. Reminder: evacuation drills are required monthly, shelter in place drills are required twice a year, and a lockdown drill is required once a year. Lockdown drills are to isolate children and staff from a security threat; shelter in place is to protect children from a natural or manmade threat. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact me at tara.barton@dss.virginia.gov.
