An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 3:15pm. During the inspection, 71 children were in care with 5 staff members present. Children were observed during hand washing and snack time. They were actively engaged in story time and homework. A selection of 5 staff and 6 children records, medications and other documents were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on a sample review of children's records, the center did not ensure that children's records contained the required information. Evidence: 1. 1 of 6 children's records was missing parents' place of employment and work number (Child #1). 2. The record for Child #2 was not updated annually. Plan of Correction: I'll touch base with parents.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on a sample review of records, the center did not ensure that staff records contained the required information. Evidence: 1 of 5 staff records were missing emergency contact information. (Staff #1) Plan of Correction: Completed during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that hazardous substances were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method. Evidence: A dust cleaning agent was observed on a desk, accessible to children. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
