Comments:
An unannounced full renewal inspection was conducted today. There were 35 children in care, with a total of 10 staff members assigned to their direct supervision. Children's records, staff records, emergency preparedness items, the physical plant, and children's medications were inspected today. The children were observed playing indoor gross motor skills games, listening to stories, engaging in free play activities, dancing to music, creating art projects, and preparing to eat lunch from home. This inspection was completed between approximately 9:45am and 11:30am. Thank you for meeting with me today. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-80-A
Description: Based on staff interviews, it was determined that one classroom attendance was correct but, when asked, the staff person did not indicate the correct number of children present in the classroom. Evidence: Upon entering the Infant classroom, the Inspector was told by classroom staff that 10 children were present in care. However, a total of only 9 children were present and in care.

Plan of Correction: All staff will be reminded the importance of always knowing exactly how many children are in their care.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-E
Description: Based on observations, it was determined that one infant bottle was not labeled as required. Evidence: In the Infant classroom, one infant bottle of prepared formula was not labeled with the child's name and current date.

Plan of Correction: The bottle was immediately labeled during the inspection.
