Diaper ointment or cream can be administered with written parent authorization noting any known adverse reactions.
Children's medication can only be administered with written parent permission.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 03/16/2023 and concluded on 03/16/2023 from 9:40 AM to 11:20 AM. There were 51 children present, ranging in ages from 6 months to 5 years, with 12 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five children?s records and five staff?s records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M Description: Based on observation, the center failed to keep the list of children's dated allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions in a confidential location in each room or area were children are present.
Evidence:
Staff 1 showed the licensing inspector the allergy list for downstairs was posted on the side of the cubbies in the hall. There was no cover over the list.Plan of Correction: The allergy list will be moved to a location that is only visible to staff and all staff will be advised of the new location. New staff will be trained on the location of the allergy list.
