Comments:
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 11/27.2023 and concluded on 11/27/2023. There were 57 children present, ranging in ages from 3 months to 4 years, with 16 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 7 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-B
Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that the diapering surface only be used for diapering or cleaning children.

Evidence:
1. The diapering surface had a plastic bag on it containing candy and a Dr. Pepper. There was also a children's book "Blue Girl" with the plastic bag.

Plan of Correction: The staff member removed the items immediately and stated that items will be put away and not placed on the diapering surface.
