Today we reviewed standard 8VAC20-780-340.F, relating to the supervision of children under 10 years old when they are in the restroom.
Since there is a mix of children in the same classroom who use the restroom completely independently and other children who require some minor assistance with specific tasks, staff must be aware of the need to provide "intermittent" sight supervision of some children in the restroom area, as needed, to provide any needed assistance in addition to the sound supervision of all children when they are in the restroom.

An unannounced complaint inspection was conducted on 5/3/2024, from 1:05 pm - 3:15pm, in response to a complaint that was received in the licensing office on 3/27/2024 regarding alleged noncompliance in the areas of Staffing and Supervision, Programs and Special Care Provisions. Four staff were interviewed. Four staff records were reviewed. Written policies, procedures and family contracts were reviewed as well as Parent communication forms which appeared to be relevant to the complaint. Based on the information gathered, there was not sufficient evidence to support the allegations, so the complaint is found to be not valid. There are no violations resulting from this complaint investigation.
