1) 40M: The center shall maintain in a way that is accessible to all staff who work with children, a current written list of all children?s allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions. This list shall be dated and kept confidential in each room or area where children are present, including the gym and playground. Staff should be informed as to where the list is kept.
2) 60A8: A written care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction - to be kept on site
3) Discussed emergency medications for children with diagnosed food allergies.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 4:30 - 5:00 pm with staff. There were 19 children, ranging from five years to ten years of age, present with two staff supervising. Children were observed completing a seasonal arts and crafts project. Two onsite staff records and two onsite child records were reviewed at the time of the inspection along with the daily attendance record, emergency drill log, written list of food allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions, 11 accident reports, one allergy care plan and the required posted information. It was reported that there were no medications on site however one staff member on site has current Medication Administration Training (MAT) certification. Three staff records were reviewed off site at the YMCA office on 9/6/2023. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-530-C Description: Based on review of documentation, the facility failed to ensure there were at least two staff members with current certification in First Aid and CPR present, on site, during the facility's hours of operation and whenever children are in care. Evidence: there were two staff on site supervising children, and staff #2 did not have documentation of First Aid and CPR certification. Plan of Correction: Not available online.
