An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted October 24, 2023 from 10:45 a.m. through 2:15 p.m. There were 62 children ages 3 months through 4 years old under the supervision of 11 staff. The physical plant, programming, supplies/materials, outdoor playground area, emergency supplies, transportation, emergency drills were inspected. Six staff records and five children's records were reviewed. One medication was reviewed. Staff training hours were reviewed.
Infants were observed during lunch, playtime on the floor and sleeping. Children were observed during transition time, preparing for lunch/during lunch, engaged in outdoor play and during story time. Lunch is brought from home.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A-8 Description: Based on review of children's records, the center failed to ensure that for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, there was a written care plan with instructions from the physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction. Evidence: Child #2's file indicates an allergy to shellfish and hazelnut but there is no allergy care plan in the file. Plan of Correction: Not available online.
